Elacara Cookie Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy explains how Elacara Ltd (“Elacara”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies on the Elacara platform.
The rules apply not only to traditional cookies, but also to technologies such as session storage that store information on, or access information from, your device.
1. Technologies we currently use
Elacara currently uses the following first-party storage technologies for authentication and user-requested platform functions.
Supabase authentication cookie (sb-…-auth-token, which may be split into numbered cookie chunks)
Provider: Elacara / Supabase
Purpose: Keeps customers and business users securely signed in, refreshes sessions and protects access to account-only pages.
Duration: Up to 400 days, subject to session refresh, expiry or earlier removal when you sign out.
Category: Strictly necessary
activeBusinessId (sessionStorage)
Provider: Elacara
Purpose: Remembers which provider you selected while opening its profile.
Duration: For the current browser tab or session.
Category: Strictly necessary
pendingConfirmServiceId (sessionStorage)
Provider: Elacara
Purpose: Returns you to a service request you chose before being asked to sign in.
Duration: For the current browser tab or session; normally removed once the request flow resumes.
Category: Strictly necessary
2. Why consent is not currently requested
The technologies listed above are used only where necessary to provide functionality you request, including secure authentication, account access and continuing a service-selection journey. They are not used for advertising or behavioural profiling.
UK rules permit storage and access without consent where it is strictly necessary to provide an online service requested by the user. We still provide this policy so that our use of these technologies is transparent.
3. Payments and Stripe
If you choose to pay online or a business chooses to connect payments, you may be redirected to pages operated by Stripe. Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to process payments, authenticate a payment session, prevent fraud and maintain security.
Those technologies are controlled by Stripe and may have different names and durations. They are activated in the context of a payment or payment-account service you request. You can read more in Stripe’s privacy information.
4. Maps, location and external services
The services map loads map tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap infrastructure. Those providers receive ordinary technical request information, such as your IP address and browser details, when map tiles are requested. Elacara does not currently use the map to place advertising or analytics cookies.
If you allow browser location access, your browser provides your current coordinates so the map can show and order nearby providers. Browser location permission is separate from cookie consent, and you can change it using your browser or device settings.
5. Analytics and marketing
Elacara does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, remarketing pixels or cross-site behavioural tracking on the Platform.
If we introduce a non-essential technology, we will assess whether consent is required, update this policy and provide an appropriate choice before activating it. Where consent is required, the technology will remain disabled until you choose to enable it, and refusing will be as easy as accepting.
6. Managing browser storage
You can use your browser settings to view or delete cookies and site data.
- Signing out removes or invalidates the active Elacara authentication session.
- Closing the browser tab normally clears Elacara session-storage selections.
- Blocking essential authentication cookies may prevent login and account-only features from working.
- You can separately allow or block location access in your browser or device permissions.
7. Personal data
Where information associated with cookies or similar technologies is personal data, we process it in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law.
8. Changes to this policy
We review this policy when our use of cookies, browser storage or third-party technologies changes. The latest version and revision date will remain available on the Platform. If a change requires consent, we will ask for that consent before using the relevant technology.
